“How do I reconcile these conflicting ideals? Easy. By using a little something called ‘cognitive dissonance’. I don’t know what it means, but hell, you could say that for just about anything.

“So just remember the never-ending gravy boat orgy that was American Politics last time you had a hardly literate right-wing Christian Texas cowboy in the office, and vote for me.

“Because fuck yeah, that’s why.”

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that faith didn’t make this country great. The freedom to pursue any religion or lack of religion, and the foresight to see that progress and change are inevitable in a developing country while drafting the Constitution and making change a cornerstone in our government is what made this country great. The sacrifice and personal loss of our immigrant forefathers of all races who came to this country throughout the various stages in her history made this country great.

And above all else, the concept of separation of church and state, supported by the man who drafted The Constitution of the United States, and another guy, who wrote the Bill of Rights, which is meant to protect the rights of everyone in this country regardless of their religion made this country great.
